• SWF is a certified IRS 501c3 non-profit organization.
• SWF is licensed as a rehabilitation and education center through the Colorado Division of Wildlife, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (pending).
• SWF is licensed for all wildlife species including federally listed, and Threatened and Endangered wildlife.
• SWF specializes in bear and mountain lion rehabilitation and release.

FOUNDATION HISTORY

Nanci Limbach founded the wildlife rehabilitation center in 1984. Her grandmother Pauline was passionate about wildlife and believed in the value of the center. Following Pauline Schneegas’s death in 1991, funds left to Nanci were used to build the “flight cage” where birds can practice flying and build strength before release. It was then that Nanci renamed the center and began the Pauline S. Schneegas Wildlife Foundation.

Since then, the Schneegas Wildlife Foundation has been quietly, but very effectively, serving Colorado’s wildlife population.
